Smart Bomb!!
I've always loved comics and in my earlier years friends and I would sit out in the garden during the summer hols and just spend the whole day drawing our own. That trailed off when work, family and life sort of got in the way but in the end I could resist the comic urge no longer and set out to create my own title. Smart Bomb!! is my version of an old British anthology comic (think 2000AD, Starlord, Action etc.), based around video games. I corralled some friends into creating a few strips but took on the bulk of work myself. I had 100 copies of the first issue printed (Here if you're interested) which sold out pretty quickly (phew!) and now issue 2 is almost ready to warp into existence (watch this space). It's not high art and it's not great literature but I think it's fun and I love doing it.
Here's a few samples (including a sneak peek at a few bits of #2)

In 2004 my wife and I decided (as you do) that it might be a good idea to start a little online business selling modern collectable toys (normally known as 'designer vinyl') and any other cool stuff we could find from around the world. OK, so I was thinking Japan, in particular. The idea was that if it we liked it, we'd try and stock it and we've pretty much stuck to that ideal. Later on we added Japanese comic art supplies and I'm happy to say that we're still going strong. My much better half handles the day-to-day running of the store and the photography and I do all the graphics (cutting out all the pics I can sometimes do well without but the illos and frontend stuff is fun!) and the layout of the site.
Our little 'dinky' mascot has evolved a bit over the years (he was even a she for a while) but I think I've settled on a look now. I'm also adding friends for him to interact with as time goes on.
